An South Carolina teen appeared in federal court Friday following his arrest on charges for attempting to join the Islamic State Zakaryia Abdin, 18, of Ladson, South Carolina, was arrested at the Charleston International Airport on Thursday evening by special agents of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) before he boarded a flight, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Lance Crick.
